LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky coach John Calipari is happy the
Wildcats nabbed a No. 1 seed, but he doesn't believe the NCAA
selection committee did any favors for the SEC champions.
The Wildcats watched the bracket unveiled Sunday night at
Calipari's home in Lexington. The party started late because
Kentucky had to fly back from Nashville, Tenn., where they beat
Mississippi State in overtime in the Southeastern Conference
tournament title game.
Kentucky will face East Tennessee State on Thursday in New
Orleans. After that would be a tough second-round game against Wake
Forest or Texas, the nation's top team earlier this season.
Should the Wildcats advance to the regional final, awaiting them
could be No. 2 seed West Virginia - the Big East tournament
"There's no easy road," Calipari said.
