The Cincinnati Reds sent starter Kyle Lohse to the Philadelphia Phillies Monday for lefthander Matt Maloney.
Maloney was the South Atlantic League pitcher of the year in 2006 and will report to Double-A Chattanooga.
The Philadelphia Phillies have added Kyle Lohse for the stretch run, obtaining the right-hander from the Cincinnati Reds for lefty Matt Maloney.
The 28-year-old Lohse is 6-and-12 with a 4-point-5-8 ERA in 21 starts this season. Lohse is 60-and-74 with a 4-point-8-3 ERA in eight seasons with Minnesota and Cincinnati.
The 23-year-old Maloney was 9-and-7 with a 3-point-9-4 ERA in 21
starts at Double-A Reading. He was the South Atlantic League pitcher of the year in 2006 and will report to Double-A Chattanooga.
