Brooks Happy With Improved Practice Effort

Updated: Fri 4:25 PM, Aug 10, 2007

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - The UK football team must have been listening when coach Rich Brooks took his players to task for poor effort during a recent practice.

Brooks praised the Wildcats yesterday following a spirited practice that Brooks called much-improved. The coach said his players were a little sharper yesterday and he's pleased with their progress.

Brooks said offensive linemen Zipp Duncan, Justin Jeffries and Brad Durham have all excelled while vying for playing time on the line.

The Wildcats have just over three weeks to get ready for their season-opener against Eastern Kentucky.
