LEXINGTON, Ky. – Senior wide receiver Keenan Burton and senior strong safety Roger Williams will be the game captains for the season opener vs. Eastern Kentucky, Coach Rich Brooks has announced.
Game captains are normally selected on the basis of performance in the previous game, or in this case, for the previous season, off-season, and preseason activities. Burton and Williams will join permanent captains Andre’ Woodson and Wesley Woodyard for the pregame coin toss.
Brooks also announced that linebacker Braxton Kelley did more extensive running during Friday’s practice, and unless his high-ankle sprain reacts negatively, will begin individual drills during Saturday’s practice. Defensive tackle Ventrell Jenkins, who is recovering from an injured shoulder, began individual drills but did not have any contact.
