Kentucky's Backfield Rotation More About Injury Prevention

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky coach Rich Brooks has a trio of running backs at his disposal to to start the season.

He says he hasn't heard any complaints about playing time.

Rafael Little, Tony Dixon and Alfonso Smith are of similar size and style.

In the opener against Eastern Kentucky, all three backs reached the end zone.

Little led the way with 135 yards, and said having Dixon and Smith there to take reps kept him fresh.

Smith got playing time last year after Little and Dixon suffered injuries.

Now, all three are healthy.
