Wildcat Injury Update Isn't Good

Coach Rich Brooks today didn’t have good news on two of his injured Wildcats. Defensive tackle Ricky Lumpkin will be out indefinitely, Brooks said.

“He re-injured an old injury to his hip. He will be out a significant amount of time,” Brooks told reporters. “At this point, no surgery will be required. It’s not inconceivable that down the road it might be required if it doesn’t heal properly.”

Lumpkin was injured last Saturday against Kent State and had to be carted off the field.

Myron Pryor, UK’s best defensive tackle, is listed as questionable to doubtful, Brooks said. “The tendons are intact and he’s got a pectoral strain, a significant strain and we’ll have to wait and see how it responds in the next 48 hours.”

Pryor went out of the game in the first quarter of Saturday’s game.
