Kentucky’s victory over Louisville Saturday night exorcised more than a few Wildcat demons that have haunted fans and players for years.

For the first time in four years, the Cats own bragging rights in the Bluegrass State, thanks to their scintillating 40-34 win over the ninth-ranked Cards. It’s UK’s first win over a top-10 team in 30 years.

Ironically, ESPN Classic was in the house to televise the game. The win became an “Instant Classic” after the Cats answered Louisville’s late fourth quarter touchdown with one of their own.

After the game, UK coach Rich Brooks saluted his team and the fans. “It’s one of the wildest, from the hip games I’ve ever been a part of.”
