Buyers Continue Rally At Keeneland Sale

Posted: Wed 9:53 AM, Sep 19, 2007

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - A strong middle market continued to bolster sales figures for the September Yearling sale at Keeneland yesterday.

There were 286 horses sold yesterday for a total gross of just under 16 million dollars. That's a 5.6 percent increase over the same session last year.

Overall sales figures continue to lag behind last year. Almost two thousand horses have been sold so far during the sale for 340 million. That's down 6.9 percent from a year ago.

Two horses - a colt by Cape Town out of Proper Dance and a filly by Mr. Greely out of Wild Crazy Lady - each brought the day's top price of $260,000.
