Cats Jump To 14th In AP Poll

The Kentucky Wildcats moved up to 14th in the week's Associated Press College Football Poll following Saturday's 42-29 victory at Arkansas. The Ranking is the highest for a Kentucky team since 1977 when UK finished 6th in the final poll of the season. This week the Cats are ranked 15th in the USA Today Poll, a jump of eight spots.
Southern California continues its season-long
ride atop the AP Top 25. Coming off a win over Washington State
that pushed their record to 3-and-0, the Trojans were named number
one on 43 of the 65 ballots cast by a nationwide media panel.
Number-two LSU received the other 22 first-place votes.
Oklahoma and Florida swap places at three and four,
respectively, and West Virginia stays put at number five.
California, Texas, Ohio State and Wisconsin also maintain their
positions at six through nine, with Rutgers moving up one notch to
tenth.
The second ten consists of Oregon, Boston College, Clemson,
Kentucky, Georgia, South Carolina, Virginia Tech, South Florida,
Hawaii and Missouri.
Rounding out the Top 25 are Penn State, Alabama, newcomers
Arizona State and Cincinnati, followed by Nebraska.
Kentucky and Georgia are the most upward-mobile programs. Both
improve seven places from last week's poll to 14th and 15th.
Penn State plunged eleven spots to 21st.
Louisville and Texas A&M dropped out of the Top 25.
