CINCINNATI (July 31, 2012) — Hall of Fame broadcaster Marty Brennaman will shave his head live on the field after the Friday, August 3rd Reds vs. Pirates game (7:10 p.m.) at Great American Ball Park if fans donate $20,000 or more to the Reds Community Fund.
Earlier this season, Marty went on record to say that if the Reds win 10 straight games this year, he’ll shave his head bald. On Sunday, the Reds defeated the Colorado Rockies 7-2 to mark their 10th win in a row.
“And this one belongs to the Reds! Cincinnati has won 10 in a row and I’m gonna shave my head absolutely bald,” Brennaman said after Sunday’s win.
In an effort to raise money for the Reds Community Fund, Marty has pledges to help out the charity that is focused on getting more kids to play baseball across Reds Country.
“If the fans can raise $20,000 or more for the Reds Community Fund, I will agree to have it done on the field after the game and before the fireworks,” said Brennaman. “I’m taking this opportunity to make good on my promise to shave my head while encouraging fans to make a donation to a charity that is very close to my heart.”
