TALLAHASSEE -- Kentucky has interviewed Florida State defensive coordinator Mark Stoops for its head coaching opening, according to a CBSSports.com report.
Under Stoops, FSU's defense led the country with 236.3 yards allowed per game entering Saturday's game with Florida. Stoops, Arizona's defensive coordinator from 2004-09, is a finalist for the National Defensive Coordinator of the Year award.
Stoops is the brother of Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops.
Kentucky is replacing Joker Phillips and finished 2-10 (0-8 in SEC play) after Saturday's 37-17 loss to Tennessee.
