Cal says Cats must handle adversity

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - It could go right down to the wire Saturday in Rupp Arena. The early Las Vegas line has Kentucky-Louisville as a pick. Friday, John Calipari emphasized his team must handle adversity in the heated rivalry.

" Well the body language," said Calipari. "Stuff happens in a game, you can't worry about officiating, forget about it, you don't control it."

Calipari has criticized his players in the early season for hanging heads. "A bad bounce of the ball, a turnover at times... you made the right play and you missed a shot, so what? They come down and make two bomb threes, one of them banks in, so what just play. All that other stuff is clutter. Just play, compete battle."

Since arriving at Kentucky in 2009, Calipari has lost only one game to the Cards, that came last December in Louisville. Overall at UK he is 4-1 against Louisville. Against Kentucky, Louisville coach Rick Pitino is 5-8.

UK and UofL will tipoff at 4:00 p.m. on WKYT. A one hour pregame special will begin at Noon.
