California Chrome arrives at Churchill Downs

California Chrome, the likely favorite in Saturday's Kentucky Derby, arrived at Churchill Downs late Monday morning following a flight from California.

California Chrome is taking up residence in Barn 20 on the Churchill backside, sharing space with the horses of trainer Tom Proctor. The chestnut colt's trainer, Art Sherman, and his wife Faye, had a flight of their own out of Los Angeles later Monday morning.

Sherman had indicated his colt would get his first feel for the Churchill strip Tuesday morning with a likely jog.

Exercize rider William Delgado has no doubt California Chrome will win Saturday. "No, no doubt in my mind." said Delgado. "You could ask any other exercize rider for every other horse is gonna say the same. I mean it's 20 horses in the race, all depending, like I said it's up to him and the one up there. I'll do my best out there with him. So come Derby day it al has to do with him and God. If it's meant for us it'll be, so that's... I'm hoping it is us."
