LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - John Calipari was at his best Thursday as he spoke to Lexington Rotary about the upcoming season and touched on a number of other subjects including UK football.

The UK coach is invited annually by the service club and Calipari's message was service above self. "Play more for your team than yourself. " Caliapri said. "If everyone on the team does that... the game becomes easy. Now you're not out there trying to do you're own thing, you're playing for your team and all of a sudden it becomes easy."

Calipari's freshman class is one of the best of all time with Julius Randle and Andrew and Aaron Harrison the most highly touted. James Young caught the eye of NBA scouts who watched practice this week. "Yesterday, James Young, the two guys who watched the game from the NBA said he's the best player in the country right now.
He played so well yesterday folks, he was the best player like, wow!"
Calipari called on his players to be happy for Young and happy in their own skin.

Calipari brought up football, saying Mark Stoops will get the job done. The Wildcats host No. 1 ranked Alabama Saturday. "It's just hard, the process, I've been there, I was at UMass trying to get it going. Trying to ge those guys to beleive, the way they fought last week (South Carolina). The problem is, now this week they're playing the Packers, and then the following week they're playing the Bears."
