Calipari pleased with point guard play

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Andrew Harrison started slowly as Kentucky's point guard. John Calipari is pleased with his progress.

Tuesday night against Ole Miss, Andrew scored nine points and dished out five assists in 34 minutes. "He's doing great." said Calipari. "He's coming over, he's talking to me throughout the game. He's recognizing things. He did two things where he held the ball and Rod (Strickland) said, come on let him do two things."

Andrew's performance against Ole Miss followed up a good floor game last weekend as Kentucky won at Missouri. "He's playing like a point guard, he's defending better, he's talking to his team." said Calipari. "I think he made a statement to you guys (media) that no ones ever criticized his game. Wow. Well that has changed. But I think he's responding, I think he's getting better."

UK returns to action Saturday at Mississippi State. Tipoff will be at 1:30 p.m. on WKYT. Wildcat Warm-Up will begin at 1:00 p.m.
