Calloway's Hack wins girls' state tourney; Sacred Heart wins team title

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Calloway County sophomore Anna Hack won the 2012 Leachman Buick-GMC-Cadillac/KHSAA Girls' State Golf Tournament on Wednesday afternoon at Bowling Green Country Club. Sacred Heart won its second consecutive team championship and seventh overall.

Hack shot a two-day total of 142, four shots ahead of North Hardin senior Lydia Gumm. It marked the first girls' individual golf championship for Calloway County High School. Hack's effort helped propel Calloway County's team to a runner up finish.

Sacred Heart won the event with a two-day total of 636.

Olivia Senter of Madisonville-North Hopkins was awarded the Leachman Buick-GMC-Cadillac academic scholarship, while Mercy's Chau Tran won the Forcht Group of Kentucky Uncommon Excellence Award and Boyle County's Rachel Pingleton received the Kentucky National Guard Best and Brightest Award.
