WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama plans to welcome the University of Louisville men's basketball team to the White House to honor its members for winning this year's NCAA championship.
The team will visit the White House on July 23. The president will also salute the team for its community service work.
Louisville defeated Michigan 82-76 to win the tournament in April.
The president might have to eat some crow. An ardent basketball fan, Obama had picked Indiana University to win the tournament by beating Louisville in the championship game.
