Cats No. 1 in USA Today preseason poll

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Bolstered by the nation’s top recruiting class, Kentucky is No. 1 in the USA Today 2013 preseason rankings.

The Wildcats are one of three Southeastern Conference teams named in the top 25 poll.

UK freshman Julius Randle was named to the USA Today 2013 preseason All-American team. Randle, along with Creighton’s Doug McDermott, Oklahoma State’s Marcus Smart, Kansas freshman Andrew Wiggins and Michigan’s Mitch McGary, was named to the first-team.

UK sophomore center Willie Cauley-Stein was named to the USA Today preseason All-American second team.
