Cats nab Booker

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Devin Booker, a 6-foot-6 shooting guard from Moss Point (Miss.), committed to Kentucky on Thursday.

Booker chose the Wildcats over Missouri, Michigan and Michigan State.

Thursday night, fellow four-star shooting guard James Blackmon will announce his decision. The former Indiana commit was thought to be a Kentucky lean, but Indiana has made up plenty of ground following a visit to Bloomington this past weekend. Michigan is also right there.

Booker is one of the best shooters in the class of 2014. The son of former Missouri star Melvin Booker, this four-star prospect also has a solid basketball IQ and plays effectively within an offense.

Booker joins five-star forward Karl Towns and top-50 point guard Tyler Ulis in John Calipari's 2014 recruiting class. The relationship between Ulis and Booker was a big factor in the Wildcats landing Booker.
