Clark County wins at girls' Sweet 16, 79-70 over Corbin

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) - Sandra Skinner scored 25 points and hot-shooting Clark County hit 10 3-pointers to defeat Corbin 79-70 on Thursday in the first round of the KHSAA Girls' Sweet 16.

Skinner's 9-of-11 shooting keyed a 62-percent performance from the field by the Lady Cardinals (26-7). She also had seven rebounds, four assists and two blocks for Clark County, which plays Marshall County in Friday's quarterfinal at Western Kentucky's Diddle Arena.

Sydney Anderson scored 14 points, while Paige Taylor and Lexxus Graham each had 12. Graham contributed six assists and two steals for the Region 10 champions.

Miranda Wilson had a game-high 26 points and six steals for the Region 13 champion Lady Redhounds (26-8), who also got 13 points from Jaclyn Jewell and 10 from Brooklyn Ashurt.
