METAIRIE, La. (AP) - The New Orleans Pelicans say second-year small forward Darius Miller has had surgery to repair a stress fracture in his left foot.
Team officials say Miller, who played at Kentucky from 2008-12 and was part of the Wildcats' NCAA title team in '12, had surgery in southern California on Friday and will return to New Orleans on Tuesday to begin his rehabilitation, which is expected to take from eight to 12 weeks.
The 6-foot-8 Mason County product, a 2012 second-round draft choice out of UK, played in 52 games last season with two starts. He averaged 2.3 points and 1.5 rebounds in 13.3 minutes per game.
