EKU best start in 66 Years, 8-0

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Not since the days of Harry Truman living in the White House has an EKU basketball team started a season as fast as Jeff Neubauer's team has. After beating North Carolina Central on the road 63-57, the Colonels are a perfect 8-0.

It goes back 66 years, the last time EKU started a season with more than five wins was in 1946-47 when the "Maroons" won their first 11 games.

Neubauer says confidence is dirving his squad and it's building. "We've got guys like Glenn Cosey and Tarius Johnson who've come in here with confidence and that's really helped our team. We've got a lot of good players but the confidence really goes a long way and the fact that we've won eight in a row, that just adds to it and fuels the fire."

The Colonels will be on the road again on Saturday when they play at Chattanooga. Tip-off against the Mocs is scheduled for 7 p.m.
