EKU set to begin spring football practice

RICHMOND, Ky. - First year head coach Mark Elder and the Eastern Kentucky University football team are set to get the 2016 preseason underway with the announcement of the spring practice schedule, concluding with the annual spring game.

On Monday, March 7 the team will take the field for its first spring practice at 6:30 a.m. That week the team will practice on Wednesday and Friday at 6:30 a.m. as well.

After taking a week off for spring break, the team will settle into a Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday schedule for the rest of the practice period, starting on Tuesday, March 22. All weekday practices start at 6:30 a.m. while the Saturday practices start at 10 a.m. on March 26, and 12 p.m. on April 2 and April 9.

All practices are open to the public. Fans are asked to sit in the Roy Kidd Stadium seats when attending practice.

The spring practice period wraps up on Saturday, April 16 with the annual spring game at 4 p.m. Admission to the spring game is free.
