BOSTON – Eastern Kentucky University senior Glenn Cosey was named to the 2013-14 Lou Henson All-America team by CollegeInsider.com. Cosey is also a finalist for the 2014 Lou Henson Award.
The Lou Henson All-America team recognizes the top Mid-Major men’s basketball players. The Lou Henson Award will be given to one of the 30 All-Americans to signify the top player at the Mid-Major level. The winner will be announced at the CollegeInsider.com Awards Banquet on April 4 in Dallas, site of the 2014 Final Four.
Cosey helped the Colonels (24-10) capture the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament championship and earn the program’s eighth NCAA Tournament bid.
The Flint, Mich., native was also chosen first team All-OVC and first team NABC All-District earlier this month.
Cosey averaged 18.7 points, 4.2 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game in 2013-14. He leads the conference in three-pointers made (3.4 per game), is second in assists-to-turnover ratio (2.3), third in free throw shooting (84.1 percent), fourth in scoring, sixth in three-point shooting (42.6 percent) and eighth in assists (4.2 apg).
Cosey hit five 3-pointers and finished with 17 points, three assists and two rebounds in Eastern’s near upset of No. 2 seed Kansas in the NCAA Tournament.
