Former Wildcat Gott traded to Angels

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Former UK closer Trevor Gott has been traded, from the San Diego Padres to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Gott, and right-handed pitcher Huston Street, are part of a 4-for-2 deal, that sends pitcher R.J. Alvarez, shortstop Taylor Lindsey, shortstop Jose Rondon and a minor leaguer to the Padres. Gott will join former Wildcat Collin Cowgill in Anaheim.

Gott had been playing in the Texas League, with the Padres double-A San Antonio Missions.

The right-hander played at Tates Creek, where he was the Gatorade High School Player of the Year in Kentucky in 2011.
