Former Wildcats stand out on first day of NBA Summer League

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The NBA tipped off summer league play in Orlando, Fla. on Sunday. Up to nine former Kentucky Wildcats will be participating in summer league ball over the next two weeks.

Terrence Jones lead the Houston Rockets with 24 points and 12 rebounds in an 88-80 win over the Philadelphia 76ers. After the game Jones said he's been working on getting better for the season, and that now is the time to prove it. Jones also said he is excited about the addition of Dwight Howard to Houston.

Another former Wildcat Doron Lamb saw plenty of action with the Orlando Magic in a 95-88 win over the Boston Celtics. Lamb finished 4 of 7 in shooting with 13 points and 2 assists.

Two former Kentucky Wildcats took the floor for the Oklahoma City Thunder in their summer league debut. Deandre Liggins had 2 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists, and Daniel Orton scored an impressive 15 points to go along with 4 rebounds and 2 blocks. The Thunder defeated the Indiana Pacers 76-68.

The NBA Summer League continues in Orlando through Friday and all games can be seen on NBA TV.
