ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) - George Vancouver found a narrow opening in the lane and shot through to win the $1 million Juvenile Turf, the first of nine stakes Saturday on Day 2 of the Breeders' Cup at Santa Anita.

The colt was hopelessly boxed until jockey Ryan Moore found a seam. Once free, 9-1 shot George Vancouver drew off to beat Noble Tune, the 7-2 favorite, by 1¼ lengths for his second win in seven starts. He is trained by Ireland-based Aidan O'Brien, who got his seventh Breeders' Cup victory.

Moore and O'Brien teamed up to win this race last year with Wrote, also for Coolmore Farms. It was Ryan's fourth BC win.

George Vancouver, the third foreign-based winner at this year's Breeders' Cup, paid $20.60, $11 and $7.20. Chad Brown-trained horses finished 2-3, with Noble Tune returning $6 and $3.80, while Balance the Books paid $6 to show.
