LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A 16-year-old girl is trying out for the Dunbar High School baseball team for the second year in a row.
Sloan Cromwell has a deep passion for baseball and no interest in playing fast pitch softball.
Last year, Cromwell did not make the baseball team. This year, she's back at it.
"I've just stuck to baseball my whole life and softball never intrigued me," says Cromwell. "It just doesn't seem fun to me whatsoever and I've always liked playing with the boys. I've learned to prove to them after they say that, I'll get out there and hit one right over their heads and say, 'yeah, I am a girl playing with the boys',".
If she makes the team, she'll be the first girl ever to make a high school baseball team in Lexington.
