Future Cats shine in McDonald's game

CHICAGO (WKYT) - Six future Kentucky Wildcats took the court in Wednesday's McDonald's All American game in Chicago. Dakari Johnson finished with 12 points and Julius Randle added 11. The West defeated the East 110-99.

Aaron Gordon, headed to Arizona, was named MVP of the game scoring 24 points and pulling down eight rebounds. Andrew Wiggins, considered the top recruit in the country finished with 19. Wiggins is undecided on his future but is considering UK, North Carolina, Florida State and Kansas.

UK signee Andrew Harrison put together a solid game with 10 points. His twin brother Aaron finished with six, James Young six and Marcus Lee two. All are headed to UK.

Gordon pleased the United Center crowd of 15,818 with a number of fast-break dunks while earning the MVP award.

He put the West up 74-54 on a reverse dunk off a fastbreak with 14:05 left. The East got within 89-80 on Keith Frazier's dunk and a pair of free throws. Then Dakari Johnson got it to 94-90 with 4:40 left, but Gordon answered with another dunk for the West. He got the crowd on their feet with an alley-oop dunk to the West up 106-91.
