ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) - Groupie Doll charged down the middle of the track to win the $1 million Filly & Mare Sprint, restoring some order to a Breeders' Cup dominated by long-shot winners.

The 3-5 favorite won by 4 1/2 lengths on Saturday at Santa Anita and paid $3.40, $2.60 and $2.10, making her the shortest price of the eight winners so far in the two-day world championships. Ridden by Rajiv Maragh, Groupie Doll ran seven furlongs in 1:20.72 after circling three-wide on the turn to take the lead. Maragh won the Juvenile Sprint on opening day Friday.

Dust and Diamonds returned $4.20 and $3.20, while Switch paid $3.60 to show.

Groupie Doll earned her fifth straight victory, all since trainer-owner William "Buff" Bradley added blinkers to the 4-year-old filly. She became the first winning favorite in the race's five-year history.

Switch was making her final career start. She is set to be sold, as is Dust and Diamonds.
