Lexington,, Ky. (WKYT) - Only Jon Hood has been on the Wildcat squad longer than Jarrod Polson. The junior out of West Jessamine High School has played a strong role in practice and he wold like to take it to the games.
Polson is looking forward to another season under John Calipari. "Hopefully just a lot more playing time than last season. Maybe a backup point guard role is what I'm working for. Just working hard in practice every day and hopefully that'll work out in the end."
Polson knows exactly what it takes to get to the Final Four, the level of talent and the bond of the team which he says is closer. "I think we're way closer than either of the two previous teams I've been on, so far at this point. This summer we did a lot of bonding. We went to the batting cages one time, stuff like that. Just things outside of basketball that really helped us grow closer together."
Coming out of high school Polson had a scholarship offer from Liberty, but things could not have worked out much better. Now he has a scholarship at UK and he has an NCAA title that hes reminded of every day. "I mean every time you see anyone they're just like congrats, congrats, congrats. I've probaly heard that a million times but it's fun i never get sick of hearing it."
