Johnson held out of Bills practice

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) - Stevie Johnson has been held out of practice because of a groin injury, leaving the Buffalo Bills' top receiver's status uncertain for their season-opening game at the New York Jets this weekend.

Coach Chan Gailey says Johnson could've practiced Thursday, but was held out as a precaution a day after complaining of tightness in his groin. Gailey says he thinks Johnson will return to practice Friday, but added there's a level of concern about the receiver's ability to play Sunday.

After riding a stationary bike before practice began, Johnson stood by and watched as receivers took part in individual drills.

Johnson experienced tightness in his groin through training camp after having surgery in May to repair an injury that nagged him for much of last season.
