LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Getting every player to play at full potential for a full 40 minutes has been a challenge for coach John Calipari this season. The Cats will give it another try as they go for their fourth straight win Wednesday night at Auburn.
Assistant coach Kenny Payne filled in for Calipari at Tuesday's news conference before practice.
"I would like to say that we're really close, but until we do it once, ya know, it's hard to say." said Payne "If this team ever gets five or six of these guys playing great the same night, who knows how good we can be. And if we do it consistently, it's scary."
Sophomore forward Willie Cauley-Stein has struggled to find consistency in his game over the last three weeks. "Not one or two people can do it, its gotta be cohesive, with everybody." said Cauley-Stein. " And that's when you're really going to see us peak, when everybody starts doing, not just one or two people at a time."
Kentucky and Auburn will tipoff at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday night on WKYT.
