LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Central Kentucky's newest professional team is the Bluegrass Warhorses, members of the Continental Indoor Football League.
The Warhorses will begin play in the CIFL in the spring of 2014. The Kentucky Horse Park's Alltech Arena will serve as the home field for the Warhorses.
In an announcement made Wednesday morning in Lexington, the Warhorses promised to provide indoor entertainment that is fun and affordable for the entire family.
“We wanted the CIFL because we wanted a league with stability and experience,” says team owner and General Manager Eric Taylor. “The league has been very supportive and extremely helpful, and we are very excited to be part of the legacy they have built.”
Harry Lewis will coach the Warhorses. Lewis played for Lexington's last indoor football team, the Horsemen.
