Lincecum throws second career no-hitter

SAN FRANCISCO, Ca. - Tim Lincecum has tossed his second career no-hitter, facing just one batter over the limit as the Giants shutout San Diego 4-0. It's the second time Lincecum has no-hit San Diego in 12 months.

The only runner to reach base against Lincecum was Chase Headley who walked in the second inning.

Linececum threw 113 pitches in improving his record to 6-5. The wiry right-hander struck out six and allowed that one walk.

Lincecum was also a threat at the plate reaching base three times including two hits and scoring twice.

Last season, it took Lincecum an astounding 148 pitches to get through the Padres line-up. The only other Giants' pitcher to throw no-hitters more than once in a career is Hall of Famer Christy Mathewson who did it in 1901 and 1905.
