LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Louisville's NCAA title defense features new faces in a new league, 12 teams that reached postseason last spring and 20 opponents with at least 18 victories.
The Cardinals' lone season in the American Athletic Conference includes games against former Big East foes such as Cincinnati, Connecticut, Rutgers and South Florida. Louisville will also welcome Central Florida, Memphis, SMU, Houston and Temple to the new league in home-and-home meetings.
A Dec. 28 showdown against archrival Kentucky in Lexington is Louisville's marquee game, but the Cardinals could also face North Carolina by advancing in the Hall of Fame Classic. Louisville opens Nov. 9 against College of Charleston and will also host Western Kentucky on Dec. 14 in the Billy Minardi Classic.
Twenty-three Cardinals' contests will be broadcast on national television.
