LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – The Girls Sweet 16 is down to two teams.
Marion County (38-0) will try to complete a perfect season in Saturday’s finals, after dismantling Anderson County (34-2), 72-49.
The Lady Knights outscored Anderson Co. 27-8 in the third quarter to blow the game open.
McDonald’s All-American Makayla Epps led the winners with 28 points. Kyvin Goodin-Rogers was held
to seven points.
Epps and Goodin-Rogers both are Kentucky signees.
Makenzie Cann led Anderson Co. with 18 points.
Marion Co. will face Notre Dame Academy for the state championship. The Pandas knocked off Manual, 64-60, in the other semifinal game.
The championship game is set for 9:00 p.m. at Diddle Arena in Bowling Green. The final game can be seen on a delayed basis, beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, on the CW Lexington.
