Marlins' Kearns out because of irregular heartbeat

MIAMI (AP) - Miami Marlins reserve outfielder Austin Kearns has been taken to a hospital with an irregular heartbeat.

Kearns was originally in the lineup for Sunday's game against Philadelphia, but after arriving at the ballpark he complained he didn't feel well and went to a hospital for further evaluation.

Justin Ruggiano replaced Kearns in the lineup. Kearns is 0 for 10 this season, his 12th in the major leagues.

*Kearns is native of Lexington and a graduate of Lafayette High School.
