Marvin Lewis receives 2-year extension

Bengals coach Marvin Lewis has received a two-year contract extension through the 2014 season, extending the longest coaching tenure in franchise history.

Lewis is entering his 10th season as head coach, a club record. The Bengals are 69-74-1 under Lewis with three winning records in his nine seasons. They're 0-3 in the playoffs.

Lewis played out his contract during the 2009 season, then accepted a two-year extension after two days of discussions with owner Mike Brown. The Bengals reached the playoffs last season as a wild card, going 9-7 before losing to Houston in the first round. He was entering the last year on that two-year deal.

Lewis is third in the NFL in current tenure with one team, behind Philadelphia's Andy Reid and New England's Bill Belichick.
