Rory McIlroy is living up to pre-tournament expectations.
The heavy favorite heading into the PGA Championship is the leader in the second round after a 4-under 67. McIlroy seemed unfazed by the 50 minute rain delay and soggy conditions at Valhalla as he shoots for his third straight win and second straight in a major.
The world's No. 1 ranked player is now 9-under par, good for a one shot edge over Jason Day and Jim Furyk. Phil Mickelson is three off the lead following a round of 67.
Kentuckians Kenny Perry and J.B. Holmes both made the cut. Perry shooting 69 to stand at one-under par. Holmes fired a 72 and is 2-under for the tournament.
Tiger Woods missed a cut in a major championship for only the fourth time in his career, finishing 6-over after a round of 74.
