MOREHEAD, Ky (WKYT) - Greg Dotson, a 6-foot-5 forward from Germantown Academy (Pa.), has signed an athletic scholarship agreement with the Morehead State men's basketball program. As a true freshman, he has four years of college eligibility.
"Our staff is excited about the addition of Greg," Head Coach Sean Woods said. "He brings an electrifying style to our program, plus great athleticism and toughness as a true freshman. Our fans will certainly enjoy watching Greg in an Eagle uniform."
Dotson earned all-district accolades as a senior in 2012-13 after averaging a team-high 16.2 points, plus 6.3 rebounds and 2.1 blocks. He helped the Patriots to a 23-6 overall record, 10-0 Philadelphia Inter-Academic League mark and PIAL championship.
His final season, the native of Fort Washington, Pa., earned a No. 12 ranking in the Philadelphia area by Max Preps and No. 24 ranking in the state of Pennsylvania by ESPN.
"Greg's potential is off the charts -- and we're looking forward to working with him," Woods said. "He's a young man who can bring a lot to the table for us. Greg is strong, runs well and has a nice feel for the game. He should also fit our style very well."
