Mercer Co. comes up short in state championship game

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Mercer Co.'s run to a state title fell short as the Titans lost to Pleasure Ridge Park, 3-2, in eight innings.

Mercer Co. (30-9) was making its second appearance in the state championship game -- the Titans lost to Central Hardin in 2011.

PRP (37-7), making it's ninth appearance in the finals, put the game-winning run on when Blake Stewart led off the eighth inning with a triple. Stewart scored with Joseph Hatcher singled.
