MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State will host Morehead Hysteria at Johnson Arena on Thursday, Oct. 18, at 7 p.m. ET. The annual event is free of charge and will feature both 2012-13 Eagle basketball teams, along with the MSU cheerleaders.
Head Women’s Coach Tom Hodges will introduce his team at the beginning of the event and 30 minutes of on-court activity will follow. A three-point contest, which is slated for 7:35 p.m., will wrap up the women’s portion of the evening.
“This was a great event last year, and we are looking forward to seeing lots of Eagle fans on Oct. 18,” Hodges said. “There’s quite a bit of excitement for both basketball programs heading into 2012-13, and this will be a special preview for all who attend.”
The 32-time national champion cheerleading program, led by Head Coach Bill Mayo, will go through a series of routines beginning at approximately 7:45 p.m.
Head Men’s Coach Sean Woods will introduce his team at approximately 7:55 p.m. A dunk contest and 30 minutes of on-court activity with the men will take up most of the 8 o’clock hour. Woods will also lead the fans through “Basketball 101.”
“This will be my first Morehead Hysteria, and I’m looking forward to it,” Woods said. “We have several new faces in the men’s program, but fans will see that we’ve also brought in a lot of talent. This should be a terrific night for both basketball programs.”
Both basketball teams will open exhibition play on Saturday, Nov. 3. The women host Kentucky State at 5:15 p.m., while the men entertain St. Catharine (Ky.) at 7:30 p.m.
The hoops doubleheader at Johnson Arena will follow an MSU football game at Jayne Stadium as the Eagles host Pioneer League opponent Davidson at 1 p.m.
