Moses takes MSC weekly honor

LEXINGTON, KY - (WKYT) Vic Moses is this week’s Mid-South Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week released by the league office Monday afternoon. The senior has garnered this honor four times total and it is the first of the 2012-13 campaign.

The Henry Clay High School product averaged 17 points and 11.3 rebounds this past week in victories over conference foe St. Catharine College, No. 22 Martin Methodist and receiving votes Life University. He posted back-to-back double-doubles in the 19th Annual Central Bank Jim Reid Classic against the latter two opponents – also earning him MVP honors.

Against the RedHawks, the senior had 15 points and 11 rebounds, while he posted 12 and 16 respectively against Life in the title game. The 31-point win over the Running Eagles gave the No. 3 Tigers (7-1) a 17th Jim Reid title.

The Lexington native opened the week with 24 points on 12-of-14 shooting against the Patriots in Springfield. For the week he shot 70.6 from the field. He leads the conference and nation in field goal percentage at 74.3.

He also averages 8.6 rebounds a game, which is top in the MSC and is 16th nationally. His 17.1 points per game is 10th best in the MSC.

Georgetown returns to action 8 pm Thursday against No. 11 Lindsey Wilson College (7-1).
