Mumme resigns at McMurry

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - According to multiple reports, Hal Mumme has resigned as McMurry's head football coach.

Mumme, the former Kentucky coach, was 26-17 in four season as McMurry's head coach. He led the War Hawks to a postseason berth in 2011 finishing the season at 9-4.

Mumme was hired by McMurry in April 2009. His last game as the War Hawks coach was a 36-35 win over Southern Arkansas in the CHAMPS Heart of Texas Bowl on Dec. 1, 2012.

McMurry announced Friday evening that it will conduct a press conference in the near future to introduce Mason Miller as its new head football coach. Miller, will be the 21st football coach in McMurry history, previously has served as Mumme's offensive coordinator, offensive line coach and recruiting coordinator.
