Patrick Newcomb of Benton, Kentucky fired an even par 71 in the final round to successfully defend his title in the Kentucky State Amateur at the Cardinal Club near Simpsonville.
Newcomb, who plays for Murray State, took a two shot lead into Thursday's final round, he finished 7-under for the tournament. Ryan McCann of Crestwood shot a one under 70 to finish four strokes behind Newcomb.
