SPARTA, Ky. (WKYT) - Kentucky State Police say traffic flowed smoothly into the race track Sunday afternoon as fans returned for the race.
The race was postponed from Saturday night after rain kept them from being able to use the track.
Kentucky State Police utilized Twitter and Facebook to keep fans up to date on traffic conditions and parking issues.
The NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Kentucky Speedway has been postponed until Sunday at Noon, because of rain Saturday night.
Kentucky Speedway officials tell us all tickets, credentials and parking passes will be honored. Parking lots will open at 8 a.m. and all speedway gates will open at 10 a.m.
Tickets remain available and will be on sale when gates open.
As of 10:30am Sunday morning Kentucky State Police say traffic was beginning to get heavy as fans return due to the short amount of time to get there before the races. They say traffic is still moving steady, with just 1.5 hours before the race begins.
State Police say they are unsure how many fans will return to the track today, but they have all resources available to handle traffic as the patrons return.
