Randle and Young at NBA Draft Combine

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Former Kentucky Wildcat Julius Randle went through drills Thursday at the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago, James Young pulled out of the workout.

Young was measured at 6-5.25 with A 7-foot wing span and an 8-foot 8 inch wing span. Randle measured 6-7.75. His wing span was 7-feet and a standing reach of 8 -feet, 9.50 inches.

Randle is projected to go either No. 4 or No. 5 in the June 26 draft. HIs physical inside game is a strength but he told Andy Katz of ESPN2 he must expand his game. "Just keeping my game more diverse, having more counters, post moves, ya know keep developing my right hand and just good post position as well."

Young told ESPN he believes he's ready for the NBA after one season at Kentucky. "It was after the season I had, I felt like I was ready for it. It taught me a lot of stuff about the NBA and I felt like I was just really ready for it and it just came down to me and my dad talking and he said if you really want to do this it's up to you, and I just really felt like I was ready for the NBA." Young is projected to be picked mid first round.
