LEXINGTON, KY. (WKYT) - The Los Angeles Lakers formally introduced first round draft pick Julius Randle Monday.
Randle impressed the Lakers with a solo workout prior to the draft and the team made him the No. 7 overall pick.
Randle made sacrifices for the good of the team at Kentucky, but he told the media in Los Angeles he doesn't feel he was held back.
"When you go to a place like Kentucky and you play with so much talent, it's about sacrificing and knowing your role to win." said Randle. "So coach didn't hold me back anyway. We just had to sacrifice and we learned it later in the year what we had to do in order for our team to win."
Randle knows a lot will be expected but he believes he can contribute immediately. "But you know I think that there's a lot of things in my game that I'll be able to show on the next level. What it will be, we'll see, but I think I have a lot to offer for sure."
