Report: Strickland headed to DePaul

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – The Chicago Sun-Times is reporting that Kentucky special assistant Rod Strickland is set to return to DePaul, his alma mater.

According to the Sun-Times story, Strickland interviewed with the school on Wednesday. At least one vacancy remains on coach Oliver Purnell’s staff at DePaul.

Strickland was a two-time All-American for the Blue Demons and a 17-year NBA veteran.

The New York city native began his tenure under John Calipari as director of student-athlete development/manager at Memphis in 2006. He joined Calipari at Kentucky in 2009 as a special assistant.
